Herend Porcelain Factory and Lake Balaton

This 8-hour tour offers a visit outside of Budapest. Herend is a small village on the northern side of Lake Balaton. The village is very famous for its porcelain factory. We drive to Herend by minibus which is 140km from Budapest (86mi)
The Minimufactory offers guided tour where you can follow the production step by step and painting of the porcelain by porcelain painters/ you can observ the whole process of porcelain making from the raw material through its formation to its painting.
After the guided tour we visit Victoria Brand Shop offering a wide selection of china ware.
Leaving Herend we drive to Tihany situated on Tihany peninsula at Lake Balaton which is the lagest fresh water lake in Central Europe. The small village offers beautiful view over the lake. The highlight of Tihany is the Benedictine Abbey founded by King Andrew I. The oldest part of the church is the cript built in 1055 where the king was burried.
Lunch in Tihany and then we drive back to Budapest.
